Gifts from Munninghoff, Lange & Co.!

The staff and students at Winton Place Youth Center would like to offer a big Thank You to the fine people at Munninghoff, Lange & Co.  Their generosity during this holiday season led them to give WPYC numerous gifts, including board games, basketballs, footballs, Barbies, a toaster-oven, a vacuum cleaner, and a blender.  They gave us our own 12 days of Christmas!  We would like to offer a special Thank You to incomparable Bob Barker, who personally arranged this generous act.  Below, you'll find pictures of our students and staff enjoying the gifts!

Gift-Wrapping Extravaganza

It was the Saturday before Christmas, and all through Winton Place,
There was a flurry of people just trying to keep pace
With paper and ribbon, and tape and bows--
They were wrapping up presents--how many?--no one knows.

This past Saturday, we had a rather unique event at Winton Place Youth Center.  We offered to wrap people's presents, free of charge.  The week before the event, word was spread by distributing 99 fliers to 99 homes in Spring Grove Village:

Though the turnout was a little lackluster (gift-buying procrastination strikes again), we had numerous volunteers show up at the Center to help out.  Our Executive Director even gave everyone a lesson on the finer points of gift-wrapping.

We were joined, as we are every month, by our St. Xavier high school service-learning group.  They not only helped wrap gifts--they also painted our bathroom doors and our basement floor!  What a group!

Below, you'll find pictures of the event.
